Greetings fellow Masi fans! First, happy belated birthday to Masi -- he's 35 now! Second, happy new year to everyone! :)

A couple weeks ago, I learned that one of my favorite musicians, Ben Folds, was going to be a judge on NBC's The Sing-Off (an a cappella competition), so I decided to watch. When the finale came around, they panned to the audience and who did I see but our very own vocal percussionist alum from Brown! :) He even sang along with Boyz II Men! I got some lo-qual screencaps that I'll put under the cut.

Also, Masi made the rounds in NYC this morning talking about the Red Cross! I'm not anywhere near the city right now, but strangely enough he did a remote interview with a local news channel upstate as well! I have some videos I uploaded to photobucket (I love how you can do that now, although you don't have unlimited space anymore) of his interviews, and I will put those both under the cut and in the video post.

Edit: I also found a video of Masi's appearance on NBC's New Year's Eve with Csrson Daly on youtube. He appears very briefly at around 3:30. I will also upload it to my photobucket and make it available there.

Edit2: I've uploaded all but the NYE with Carson Daly on my youtube account with sneaky names, so hopefully they won't get taken down. And I added one I found that just says it's from AP. Enjoy!

I DID IT! I met Masi! I'm so glad to report that he was as sweet in person as he seems from interviews. What a CUTIE! But you all already know that. :) I just thanked him for helping make geeks a little bit cool, and that I think his bilingualism is really cool, cos I study linguistics. He replied, "Oh, cool! What do you study?" And after some stumbling due to the fact that he was actually interested at all, I managed to tell him I study phonology, which he also said was cool. I assumed he knows what that is! (For those of you that don't, it's the study of sound patterns in language.) He encouraged me to keep at my studies as I was leaving! And I got a HUG!!! :)

The photos are a bit blurry, and I look awful (it was really cold in the early morning so I was wearing really frumpy clothes), but here is Masi in all his adorable glory!

Hi all,

Masi is going to be at the NBC Experience Store in Rockefeller Center, New York on Monday morning, signing autographs in a Meet'n'Greet type thing. I'm currently out on Long Island, but I think I'm going to make an excuse for skipping my morning class and go. If my trip into the city is a success, I will be happy to share pictures! Any messages any of you would like me to share in case I get to talk with him? I can't guarantee I'll be able to get everything in if I do, but yknow, just in case. :) Wish me luck!
